The "We Look Like Squares" Dance

While on the topic of airline security theater, is anyone else annoyed by the way the jihadis have complete control over our behavior when boarding airplanes. How do you sing "The Hokey Pokey" in Arabic?
"You take your shoes off,
You dump your shampoo out,
You hold your arms up,
And you turn yourself about."
Achmed must chuckle himself to sleep at night. Wait'll you see the security checkpoints after they try and smuggle a bomb under a wig or toupee...

Well, then I guess being bald IS a plus. :)

I just remember dire warnings from a few years ago that, if we did this or that, "the terrorists would have won".

Well, I don't say that they've won (my wife being groped by some TSA loser not exactly being a symbol of unconditional surrender), but we ain't exactly making the sort of progress in the WoT that I sort of hoped that we would.

Annoyed? I avoid airports and commercial flying because I fear a cerebral aneurysm.

Not necessarily mine, it could be trauma induced...

Thanks,

We'll all look like we're in the movie Alien 3.

Or Allahien 3, something like that.

Just wait till you see the checkpoints after someone tries bringing a C4 suppository on board...

I'd like to see the effects of said suppository...considering that it would take at least a pound to make more than a horrible mess...

I count myself fortunate to have not had a reason to fly since before the TSA went the "two by two, hands of blue" route.

I dread the day I'm ever forced to fly again.

It's simple.
They've won.

+1 to armedlaughing. The War on a Noun is over, and the noun won, extending the United States' losing streak against nouns to three.

We can put a stop to this.
Tell your congressman.
Tell your senator.

And when the next attack comes (it will happen, eventually), carry on as usual.

"Land of the free, and the home of the brave." LOL. Obviously, the applicability of this phrase varies by location. Boston: not so much, for example. But outside of the Northeast, the West Coast, and large urban area in general, there is still a noticeable amount of the American spirit, from what I have observed second-hand.
Unfortunately, I live in Maryland, where sales of Depends are not just for seniors.

Yeah. I'm going to New Zealand on Saturday. Don't have much choice about flying on that one. I'll never have enough time off work to make a vacation like that by ship.

Why in the world would Haji need to smuggle anything on a plane at this point? You've got way more than 200 people standing in a packed crowd at the security checkpoint during peak times.

Imagine when the checkpoint moves back to the parking lot - and then a VBIED is used, then the checkpoint moves back to...

So let me see if I got this straight:

1. Two countries independently warned us of an imminent attack in a major city by specific individuals, and the gov stood by and let it happen, resulting in 3 deaths and hundreds wounded.

2. Hundreds of weapons were allowed to fall into Mexican drug cartels, resulting in the deaths of 300+ people.

3. Terrorist attack on a consulate resulting in multiple deaths, and the gov stands by and does nothing but watch it happen.

3. The gov treats everyone boarding a plane as if they're being admitted into prison. If they catch you with a forgotten round of .22 ammo in your pocket, holy hell will descend upon you.

Exactly which side is the government on, again?
