Farmville...

In World of Warcraft one's character can engage in a little farming on the side. Not real-life hard-working farming, mind you, which wouldn't translate well into a video game format anyway (well, who knows... video golf games have traditionally been big sellers) but you just stick some seeds in the ground, come back the next day and harvest your plants and stick more seeds in the ground.

The plants are a little fanciful, especially squashes and pumpkins, which appear rooted to the dirt at first glance.

Anyway, in the sleep theater I had by way of dreams last night, I had to get Bobbi to come to the post office to help me pick up a huge pumpkin which Nanny Ogg had shipped me. Even gutted and deflated-looking, the pumpkin was a double armload that had to weigh fifty pounds.

Plus, it was some weird dream-slash-WoW variety of turnip-like pumpkin where the bottom half of the pumpkin was actually the roots of the plant. The whole thing was vaguely anthropomorphic-looking, too, with its bifurcated root... pod... things; shaped sort of like a giant orange vertically-ribbed deflated ginger root.

Anyway, it arrived already gutted, and I needed Bobbi to help carry the big galvanized bucket of seeds and pulp.

Also, there was air travel, flying back from visiting Marko on an 0300 flight out of MHT in a Fokker Trimotor.

Surely it's Magrat who has excess pumpkins to give away...?

Vehicular dreams for me again last night.

I dreamt I was given a 50's vintage pickup (not sure of the make) that I had borrowed from a friend several times over the years. He decided he didn't want to maintain it any longer.

There was a dream within a dream feel associated with the truck that I couldn't really unravel once I woke up.

Much like my dream about the Accord a few weeks ago I had a moment after waking where I wanted to go check the garage to make sure it really was just a dream.

I want an in-game flamethrower to use on those damned garden infesting Vermen.

I'll have to settle for setting them aflame with damage over time spells, and then using some form of mass fear to make them run in circles until they die.

"Mine, mine, mine, gimmee, owie, owie, no, no, die, die, die ..."

Only Blizzard could combine the worst features of a rabbit, a pitbull, and an angry two-year-old.

It could have been worse...you could have been on a Ford Tri-Motor...

Years ago, when I was involved in a deep and complex field of study, I would, night after night, have a dream about an aircraft flying swiftly through partly-cloudy skies...the aircraft strongly resembled a B-58, but instead of four single engines, it had six engines arranged in two 3-paks under the wings...

Nothing else, just this pseudo-B58, winging swiftly through partly cloudy skies...

Yeah, just like the rest of my life, as exciting as watching paint dry...

If Nanny Ogg was involved, I would immediately do whatever your dream told you to do with the pumpkin.

Could be important.

A little Bing wandering since I cannot get the blasted chipper/shredder to start shows that it was an early 40's vintage Ford in my dream.

Which of the beers on the list at 20 Tap creates those dreams, and do they export from Indiana?

Swamp is wrong. If I were Tam I would have my dream self avoid those Fokkers; we all know what happened to Knute Rockne.

Now, I had a ride in a Ford once outta PDK, and felt perfectly safe and chuffily happily amused for the whole flight. A Ford won't rot if it gets wet.
This is why there are no Mosquitoes left, why one should never buy a Bellanca or an old Mooney which has stayed parked outdoors much in a damp climate.

Tony Fokker was famously better at business than he was at engineering. Fokker.

Kristophr, you want to get your hands on a gen-u-ine Shadow Pan Dragon Gun. Works wonders on those persnickity farm vermin!

Ok, I'm starting to wonder less and less about what manner of vittles served right before Tam's bedtime at House Roseholme and more and more about when the last time the batteries in the Radon/Monoxide/hallucination gas detectors were checked! :-)

What are you taking?
I haven't had such bizarre dreams since I was taking the anti-Malaria drugs they recommend if you're going to some third world tropical hell-hole for vacation.

Justthisguy said...

Yah, Windy, what else could make you dream that you were riding in a Fokker tri-motor which was so damp and moldy that the wing could fold at any moment?

Fords are uglier, but they don't rot. There are a (very) few Fords left, but no Fokkers that I know of. Serves them Fokkers right!

I've flown in a Ford Tri-Motor. Pretty neat. Wicker seats and loud as heck inside. Never seen a for real Fokker Tri Motor though.

And Justthisguy, there is now a single flying Mosquito again. A recent long term restoration came to fruition or year (or so) ago and one of those wooden wonders is flying again. google it and you'll find it
